The robot design looks like a Trojan. He has lots of diecast metal making it a hefty figure. My specimen had a broken ratchet joint on his left hand. The seller wasn't really honest as he said the item was in good condition.

Daikyozin comes with a few weapons - an axe/spear thing, a gigantic sword and a bow and arrow. As you can see, he can't hold the sword up with his left hand due to the broken joints.

There's no way he can hold the arrow. So I slide it under the bow string. He looks pretty cool with his bow and arrow.

Play gimmick 1 - Shooting right fist.

Play gimmick 2 - Transforming to a space ship

First - remove both the fists.

Second - lay the robot down. Flip open the back wings and flip the head inside the cavity.

Third - straightened the feet. Press the red button and the silver 'nose cone' pops out.

Flip up the arms. Shortened the legs by pressing a button on his butt and push up the legs to the hips.

Next - attach the cockpit piece to the arms.

Finally add the yellow connector piece to the legs.

And there you have it - the completed space ship!

It looks pretty decent.

In this space ship mode, there's a firing missile gimmick. The launcher is at both sides of its legs.

It fires the super tiny red missile.

Play Gimmick 3 - Combine with Daitenba to form a robot centaur Daibazin!

First extend Daikyozin legs and then flip them backwards, The legs now becomes it's backpack.

For the Daitenba, flip the horse head into the body compartment (see previous blog).

Push up the thighs of Daikyozin. And simply attach Daikyozin to Daitenba, using the side metal clips of Daikyozin. Transformation complete!! Daibazin!!

He can hold all his weapons! Something interesting here is that the wheels of the pegasus becomes the shield for Daibazin. Simply remove the peg from the wheel....

...and slide the wheel to the forearms of the robot.

And he's a cool looking centaur mecha!! Daibazin looks pretty awesome on display especially with its weapons.

Kids of the 80s would probably had a good time with this toy. It has everything from firing fists, firing missiles, transforming gimmicks and even a combination mecha gimmick. This toy feels sturdy, unlike my experience with the vintage Macross Valkyrie. I've transformed it a couple of times and it was very smooth experience. Finally here's the instruction sheet.

This toy had great play value. There are not many information of the toy or the anime online. Guess it's not really popular like Mazinger, Getter etc.. This set is quite hard to come by. Despite the missing missiles, I am glad to own this.rare gem.
