VINTAGE 1989 BANDAI GOKIN ULTRASEVEN ULTRA HAWK 1 (UROTORA HOKU ICHIGO) ALPHA, BETA & GAMMA

Ultra Hawk 1 is a combining jet from the Ultraseven TV show. It was designed by Tohl Narita. It's a cool design but sadly this jet was destroyed in Ultraseven Episode 32. I wanted to buy this when I was in Hong Kong few years back. The shop owner said he had one but can't find it (his shop was pretty messy with heaps of toys). Since then I've been searching for this toy and found a used one selling for USD100++ in eBay. Not willing to pay that price I continue my hunt. Finally found a new one in a Japanese Collectibles Store, half that eBay seller asking price even with shipping included. It arrived yesterday and here it is.

The Jet is encased in styrofoam box. It comes with the Ultra Hawk 1, missiles, display stand, instruction sheet and stickers. Ultra Hawk 1 detailing are not painted but pre-applied stickers.

Ultra Hawk 1 comprises of 3 jets - UH-001-1 aka Alpha, this is the main jet with Red decals. UH-001-2 aka Beta is the Yellow Jet. UH-001-3 aka Gamma is the Blue Jet. All the cockpits are painted black.

UH-001-1 Alpha Jet - the entire body is diecast except for the tail fin and wings.

Play feature - Rolling wheels

UH-001-2 Beta - Its all plastic.

Play feature - Rolling wheels and firing missiles.

UH-001-3 Gamma - It's all plastic too.

There's a nice chrome detailing at the rear.

Play feature - shoots off UH-001-2 Beta with the press of the red button.

Now let's combine them! Alpha acts as the backbone of the jet. Gamma slide in all the way back and it snap lock.

This is followed by Beta, where it attaches to Gamma.

Combination complete!

Another cool feature of this toy is the dual function display stand. You can display them in combined form or as individual jets.

It looks pretty good on the stand.

The stand doesn't peg very well on the individual jets. But it does hold up.

This is a good collectible to own if you're a Ultraman fan.

It has diecast content, missiles shooting feature, combining jets and an awesome dual display stand!

Quite hard to find these days.
