TOMICA HYPER RESCUE DRIVE HEAD (KIDOU KYUUKYUU KEISATSU) WHITE HOPE & RESCUE HELICOPTER BY TAKAR

This is an unplanned purchase. I bought these because it was on sale with about 70% discount and also the robot design looks cool. Searched Youtube for the anime and found out these robots are called Drive Heads. Smaller car connects to a bigger vehicle that can transform to a robot. There are three main Drive Heads - Police, Fire Engine and Ambulance.

Let's look at the ambulance vehicles first - White Hope

Unfortunately these toys are not diecast like the regular Tomica vehicles. Details and paint job are pretty good.

The smaller vehicle connects to the larger vehicle.

The roof of the smaller vehicle opens up to form the head. This is how the robot looks like right out of the box.

There are lots of decals stickers to apply.

And this is how he looks like with stickers applied.

I bought the Rescue Helicopter because it is the partner for White Hope.

The grey parts of the helicopter can be detached....and interchange with the limbs of White Hope. The blades can be held as weapon. The original limbs of White Hope connects to the helicopter to form another vehicle.

Overall the design is pretty cool. The color matches for both.

The robot can hold two blades.

There's a clip to hold his syringe gun.

The transformation is easy. Reasonable play value - transforming robot, interchangeable limbs/parts, detachable mini car and weapon with weapon storage. Quite a decent toy to display too. Checked eBay price - USD70-100++ for the White Hope and USD35++ for Rescue Helicopter.
