VINTAGE 1985 LJN THUNDERCATS COLLECTION

It started with Lion-o, then Mummra and then Jaga (reviewed in earlier post). Since then I've been toying the idea of completing the collection by getting all the Thundercats main characters. But they are expensive especially for complete specimens. So I kinda shelved the idea until I saw some Thundercats complete figures for sale from a Netherlands eBayer. After many years, the collection is complete.

The original Thundercats Family (pic below). Jaga is the most rare and expensive of the lot.

In later episodes there are three new Thundercats - Bengali (Blue Tiger), Lynx-O and Palmyra. These later releases are very expensive in the secondary market.

The bad guys - Mummra mail-in figure, Mummra and Grune.

Jaga and Grune. Grune was a Thundercat before he turned evil. There was an episode where there's a fantastic sword fight scene between these two.

Next - The Thundertank. I got this from a UK eBayer. It's complete and the spring mechanism still works. The only bummer is the rubber treads is broken.

I glued the rubber treads with super glue.

Push down the back of the tank, and the paws springs up....lion jaws open....

...and the back opens to reveal a gunner seat.

These are one of the best toys ever made in the 80s. And did I mentioned? Thundercats have the most awesome cartoon opening sequence!
