1980s VOLTRON PART 15 - 1985 HG TOY VOLTRON WRIST BLASTER
I wasn't planning to get this. I wanted to buy a vintage Masters of the Universe accessory and I stumbled upon this. It was new in box and cheap! There are many problems with this toy. I guess that's why its cheap. This is made by a company called HG Toys. It's made in Hong Kong and it's licensed by WEP.
The box color had faded from exposure to the sun or florescent light.
The wrist blaster comes with 6 soft darts. The lion head is made of soft plastic and its 'body' is made of those thin plastic similar to those plastic table cloth. (I am not sure what they are called) As you can see from the picture, the color faded on one side of the body.
The bad news - both the firing mechanism and light function doesn't work!
To launch the dart, you pull back the red trigger and press the red button. The pull and release functions properly, but it just fail to launch the dart.
The blaster is NOT removable from the lion.
The plastic 'cloth like' body wraps around your hand and its secured by two buttons.
Too bad all it's fun features doesn't work. But it still makes a good display piece.
Very rare in the secondary market. Not a must have unless you want to collect every single vintage Voltron toy out there.
