Machine Blaster was aired from 1976-1977 and was probably the first robot anime I watched as a kid. Few years ago I posted a blog on Machine Blaster Astro Base

( Check it out here - http://patmuseum.wixsite.com/collectibles/single-post/2015/11/14/VINTAGE-1970s-TAKEMI-MACHINE-BLASTER-ASTRO-BASE-MINI-GOKIN)

and this is the my second Takemi toy. I wasn't planning on getting this and I was looking for Shogun Poseidon when I stumble upon it. It was below market price and had a best offer option. I made a best offer and the seller accepted it.

Overall the box condition of my specimen is still good with just some small tears at the top (pic) and sticker tear.

Pic below clockwise from top - Sandaio, Pichotto, Boss Palder, Bull Ceasar and Robo Kress.

The reason I got it below market price - its missing some missiles and paperwork (the catalog and the character namecard).

But all the essentials are there - the four firing fists, the detachable hat which is a jet known as Freedom IV, the weapons with chains still intact and 3 missiles.

There's a sticker wear on his left knee. Other than that, this figure looks almost like new with no paint chips at all. Its pretty colorful and have a nice chrome.

This figure is 95% diecast. The only parts that aren't diecast are the small accessories, the face plate, the yellow shoulder spinning weapon thingi (don't know the name) and the belt buckle. The body, head, arms and legs are all made of diecast. It is a very heavy figure

Play Gimmicks 1 - The Freedom Jet attaches to the head via magnet.

Play Gimmicks 2 - He can hold his Chained Mace Weapon. However his fists are hyper sensitive and fires at the slightest touch. Therefore to pose with his weapons are very difficult.

Play Gimmicks 3 - Firing Fists and Missiles. Flip down the belt buckle to reveal missile firing mechanism. The belt buckle is held on by a very thin plastic and I can already see some stress marks there. From the looks of it, this could break easily. When you are buying one from the secondary market, do be aware of this.

eBay prices for a boxed specimen ranges from USD180-225. This is quite rare. There are four main robots in this anime and Boss Palder seems to be the hero of the show. The rarest of the robot is Sandaio. I haven't seen one turn up on eBay after years of searching. The more common ones are Bull Ceasar and Robo Kress which you can get for USD110-150.
