1986 VINTAGE KENNER THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS TOYS (UPDATED SEPT 18)
Kenner's The Real Ghostbusters toys are based on the cartoon TV series and not on the movie. Why they added "Real" to Ghostbuster? Well around that time, there was another Ghostbusters cartoon made by Filmation which was based on their 1975 live action TV show of the same name. So Columbia Pictures added "Real" to distinguish the two.
Out of impulse, I bought this whole lot of Kenner's Ghostbusters toys which includes the Ecto 1, Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, the heroes namely Egon, Ray, Peter and Winston, Fright Features Egon and Peter, Frankenstein and another Egon figure.
They are loose, have some wear and incomplete except for Ecto 1.
Let's check out the heroes figures below L-R Ray, Peter, Egon and Winston.
They are all missing the mini ghost, and only 3 proton packs are included. the good news is all of them have tight joints and minimal paint wear.
Check out the Ghostbusters logo on their shoulders, still clear and crisp.
The proton packs can be mounted on their backs.
These proton packs are super duper fragile. Handle with extreme care when playing or displaying!
The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man is made of rubbery material. My specimen have paint wear. It's pretty cute and this figure is quite a sought after toy.
The Fright Features figures.
Their play gimmick is simple, press the hand.....
....and you have a frightful expression.
For Frankenstein, you press the legs.
Another extra Egon figure included in the lot. It's basically the same toy with color variation.
Now for the best part of the lot - the Ecto 1. To my surprise, it's complete, clean and fully functional!
The Ecto 1 comes with a blaster seat, an orange ghost and a capture claw.
The blaster seat have safety belt. Many loose specimens have broken seat belts, so make sure you check this out if you're planning to buy one.
The seat can be stored behind Ecto 1 or mounted on the roof.
The claw gimmick - underneath the Ecto 1, there's a muffler at the side and if you move it to the right, you'll activate the reeling claw action.

Once the gimmick is activated, you push the Ecto 1 forward and it will reel in the ghost.
Pretty cool and fun feature!

And Ecto 1 can fit in all four figures. Two in the front seats, one on the roof.....
....and one behind.
Though this is an impulse purchase, I am very happy with this because of the complete Ecto 1, Marshmallow Man and the four heroes with 3 proton packs. Checked another wish list toy collection!
COLLECTION UPDATE SEPT 2018
I was looking for a Slimer figure as well as an additional proton pack for Winston. Tried my luck on eBay. After four months, finally found one seller that offers a 'lot' purchase. Buying in lot was definitely cheaper than buying them individually. Here's Slimer.
Slimer is in good and clean condition. It's missing its food accessories which are a piece of pizza, slice of watermelon and a steak.
Now all the four main characters have a Proton pack!
The latest proton pack I acquired is attached to Winston and it is from the first release. The rope is attached at the bottom of the Proton pack. See pic below.
Next..should I get the Firehouse and Janine figure? Hmm....
