My latest toy investment arrived today. The word "Investment" makes me feel better for acquiring this pricey item. In fact I sold my Hot Toys Joker figure in order to buy this. But I have no regrets. Instead I think I am addicted to Jumbos now...

This is the early version of Mattel's Shogun Warrior Mazinga. Yes they made a mistake calling it Mazinga when it's actually Great Mazinger. Mattel rectified this error in later releases.

The boxart - my specimen is very crappy with lots of tears and creases

Both sides have the same art

My specimen doesn't comes with instruction. I got the image of the instruction sheet from the net and reprinted it.

He comes with 11 missiles (originally 14), 2 swords and "Brain" ship. His missiles are white with red arrow head and white tip. Most of the pictures I see on the net are red missiles with white arrow head and red tip, which is the reverse. I don't know which is the earlier version. If you know, do leave a comment.

There are scratches and paint chips all around the ship.

Overall the figure have lots of scratches and paint chips. The good news is nothing is broken.

All the clips for the missiles are intact. His swords are stored in his thigh sides.

He can hold the ridiculously small sword.

Luckily all the firing mechanism still works!

The Roller wheels are intact.

See that embossed Popy logo? These were originally Japan Popy toys named Jumbo Machinders. Mattel took them and rebranded as Shogun Warriors.

Later release of this toy has a 'sticker' for the chest piece and the brain ship is permanently attached. The later version box shows the correct name - Great Mazinga.

Quite easy to find in eBay but not cheap if you want a boxed and complete specimen.
