This toy has been on my radar for some time. Finally got it today. If you're a Voltron fan, you would probably know that this is a re-issue of the vintage 1980s diecast Golion with some retooling. Trendmasters added the fins on green and red lions. Voltron face is painted black. And the set comes with lots of weapons like the original Golion but minus all the firing missiles gimmick.

Once open, there's a very thin cardboard sleeve.

The lions and weapons comes in a styrofoam tray and have additional weapons in a baggie. The instruction is only a single piece of paper with images and words printed in blue.

Trendmasters Voltron is notoriously known for its brittle plastic. I was very careful not to exert force when handling it. The yellow horns on my specimen doesn't fully extend and I was afraid it might break if force is used.

Trendmasters retains the firing head gimmick.

"Let's form Voltron"

The plastic feels cheap, like those Taiwan Golion KOs. The paint job is shoddy and not sharp and looks like KO too. The chrome starts to peel on the black lion. QC is really bad.

The red and green lion's mouth can't really grip their weapons tight.

"Form Blazing Sword" pose!

Oops forgot to extend the wings! Here he is with the wings extended!

Size comparison - Here is the diecast Voltron compared to the plastic 6" Voltron. The box is massive!

I bought this because I would like to collect the different versions of Voltron. If you're not a completist and you already have a vintage Golion, I wouldn't recommend this. But if you haven't got a vintage Golion, this would be a cheaper alternative. Just make sure you handle with care when playing it!
