VINTAGE GOKIN BANDAI 1983 ROBO MACHINE VOLKSWAGEN

This toyline has a few different names - Machine Robo (Japan), Robo Machine (Europe), Robot Machine Men (Australia) and most commonly known in US as Gobots. Here I have a Europe version Robo Machine DX VolksWagen. This guy is known as a villain called Bug Bite in Gobots.

It comes in a styrofoam tray, a multi-lingual instruction sheet and decals.

Let's look at the car mode. The diecast parts is in the front hood and robot legs structure.

The car has very nice details and it has rubber tyres.

There is a chromed driver figure inside the car.

Transformation is pretty easy.

The entire top part of the car forms the head. The robot doesn't have any face.

Side view - he looks like 'Alien' with the elongated head.

He comes with a weapon that can attached to the windscreen.

The instruction says the weapon can be clip to his robotic hands but I found that the weapon handle to be too thick, therefore he can't clip on it. It can only rest on his hand.

My specimen is made in Singapore. This version is quite rare in the market. eBay price ranges USD170-200. However the US Gobots version issued in 1985 are more common and much cheaper.
