In the 1970s, Marvel and Toei had an agreement that allow both parties to use each other properties in any way they wanted. The result is a Japanese version of Spiderman, complete with robot called Leopaldon (or Leopardon in US). The Japanese Spiderman docks into a Leopard headed spaceship called Marveller (homage to Marvel) and it transforms into a giant robot! Yeah it's weird but cool! What's even cooler is the Chogokin toy I acquired from Japan.
This is the Dx version that is able to transform from Marveller to Leopaldon.

My set comes with 7 yellow missiles (originally there are 8 missiles if not mistaken), 2 x mini chromed Spider Machine, 4 x fists, 2 x small swords, 1 x big sword and 4 x spider shield, 1 x Popy catalog and reprint instruction.

Play features - firing missiles from chest, firing missiles from legs, rocket punch and an interesting add-on feature. The Spider shield can be attached to the missiles and fired from the chest or legs.

Here's he's holding his gigantic sword called Sword Vigor.

The two smaller swords doesn't really fit it hands. This robot is very heavy - the die-cast parts are on the shoulders, upper body and legs.

Rocket punch! - Sort of a 'must have' in vintage Japanese toys!

Side view and back view.

Let's change to Leopaldon! The transformation sequence is the same as in the show!

The set comes with a super tiny Spider Machine , a special car that Spiderman rides. It docks in to Marveller's Leopard head just like in the TV show!

This is how small the Spider Machine!

Here's a screen capture of the docking sequence and also photo of Spider Machine.

One last note - Leopaldon (Leopardon) did appear in Marvel comics!

This is a great vintage Chogokin toy because it is packed with lots of play features! And it accurately mimicks the transformation sequence from the show! I am pleased with this (even though it's missing 1 missile and instruction sheet) because the condition and chromed on my specimen is still pretty good. eBay prices rangers USD300-400.
