This is probably the last Mazinger Chogokin toy series from the 1980s. It's not until 11 years later that Bandai launched the Soul of Chogokin line in 1997 that we get lots of Chogokin Mazingers, popular even until today. This GA-01 Mazinger from the Etarnal Hero Series is the 4th version of the toy in a 6th version box. Notice the brand is no longer Popy but Bandai.

Here's a quick breakdown of the toy versions:

1st version - flip down chest revealing missile launcher. Rocket punch firing button located on the shoulder.

2nd version - flip down chest piece with no firing missile gimmick. The missile launcher is covered with sticker. Rocket punch firing button located on the shoulder. Comes with Jet Scrander.

3rd version - Flip down chest with no firing missile gimmick, covered with sticker. Rocket punch firing button located on biceps. Comes with Jet Scrander.

4th version - Remolded body. No flip down chest. Missiles firing gimmick on chest. Rocket punch firing button located on biceps. Comes with removable Hover Pilder and Jet Scrander. (See below)

My set comes with 1 extra Hover Pilder, 1 extra pair of hands and six missiles.

Over 90% diecast content, this is a very hefty 5" figure.

Rocketo punch!

The mini Hover Pilder is removable!

EBay price - USD300-400. Beware if you intend to buy this. There are KO of this (made by Hong Kong toy enthusiast according to the forums) which is as good as the original. Made in the year 2000. One way to spot the KO is the KO Mazinger legs are not even, the right leg is shorter. It comes in a version 4 box (see below).
