SPECIAL EDITION TRANSFORMERS LINKIN PARK SOUNDWAVE

This was not in my collection radar. i bought it because it was on sale with a super duper cheap price (about 60% off retail price). Limited to 2000 pieces worldwide, this limited edition Linkin Soundwave is a recolor of the G1 Soundwave toy. It comes with 4 cassettes robot - Lazerbeak, Buzzsaw, Ravage and Ratbat. It has a black and gold Soundwave packaging and a purple velvet box to store the robot and the cassettes.

Contents inside - check out the unique purple velvet box. Soundwave and the cassettes are molded in gold color. It comes with gold chromed accessories and four cassette boxes and instruction sheet. There are no decals sheet.

Soundwave feet are diecast. There's a Linkin Park logo on his chest.

The arm canon doesn't fire the missile even though there's a spring inside. I've checked the internet and it appears that this toy is designed that way to prevent accidents.

Soundwave transforms into a Walkman.

The arm and shoulder canons becomes AA batteries that can be stored behind Soundwave.

All the cassettes robots have diecast parts. The weakness of this toy is that there are no decals provided, as such you can't differentiate Laserbeak and Buzzsaw because they are the same mold.

Originally priced at USD150 its'quite expensive for a recolor G1 toy. The only thing unique is the packaging and color of the robots. If you're a Transformers collector, probably you've already own a regular Soundwave. As such, I wouldn't recommend this unless you are a Linkin Park fan, a Soundwave fan, you haven't got a G1 Soundwave toy or the toy goes on sale!
