VINTAGE 1985 POPY BANDAI CHOGOKIN DX DANCOUGAR (CHOJU KISHIN DANKUGA)

This arrived today from a local collector. Reason I bought this because its complete with box, its an animals combiner robot and it's below the market price. This is my first vintage Japan Issued DX Popy Bandai Chogokin toy - Dancougar.

Check out the box art. On one side of the box is an illustration of the robot and the animals. On the other side is the picture of the toy robot and animals. Cool design.

There's an inner cardboard that showcase the names of the animals - Land Liger, Land Cougar, Eagle Fighter and Big Moth.

It comes with a 14 page instruction booklet and an additional piece to show the combination. It also comes with a Popy Catalog (not shown).

The Land Liger, Land Cougar and Big Moth are triple changers. They transform into robot, beast and tank. The Eagle Fighter transform to jet and beast.

The Eagle Fighter below is suppose to have the arms tucked in. But I didn't want to force it in as the joints are tight. In fact I broke a small joint piece on the wings when I tried to lower down the landing gear..... :(. Luckily this part doesn't affect the transformation. No matter how careful, this 30 years old is prone to breakage.

The Cats form the feet of the robot. The Eagle transform into the head. The Mammoth forms the body, arms and legs.

Here's the complete Dancougar! This set comes with only one weapon - a gigantic gun.

However there are canons that are attached to the Cats and Mammoth as they transform into tanks. I did not transform them to tank mode because the joints are very stiff.
