Matchbox released a version of Voltron that is similar to Golion, minus all the missile shooting play features and blunted the lion's tooth. So we won't talk about the Matchbox Voltron but rather another version of Voltron that is issued by Panosh Place. This is a 'kid friendly' toy, made of plastic, have lots of weapons and features cockpit on the lions that fits the pilots! The bad news is, this version doesnt look like the lions in the animation. The lions have bloated bellies (because of the cockpit). The good news is this Voltron has a lot of play features.

The set comes with all the 5 lions, instruction sheet and catalog plus 14 weapons! When assembled it's about 15" tall! Transformation is much easier compared to Golion.

A mint (tight joints, minor chrome wear) with box and inserts specimen goes for USD220-300 on eBay. As you can see from the picture, this is not the best looking Voltron. Perhaps this is for diehard Voltron fans.
