2004 BANDAI THE CHOGOKIN MAZINGER Z GT-00
1 September 2022
This is a remake and miniaturize version of the very first Chogokin Mazinger toy. (Back in 1999 Banpresto re-make this toy but in full size. You can check out my review here https://patmuseum.wixsite.com/collectibles/single-post/2016/02/12/1999-banpresto-reissue-ga01-mazinger-z-commemorating-the-first-chogokin-toy )
I wasn't a robot collector back in 2004 so I missed the chance of owning this when it came out. Price for this toy
had soared to crazy unbelievable level - Checkout eBay and see.
But I managed to get one for a good price in Japan.
The reason is probably the seller thought the figure is
missing some missiles. When it came,
the toy is actually complete!
Check out the box art
On thing to note, my specimen have a gold foil sticker "Chogokin 30th". I've seen others that doesn't have this sticker.
Box show signs of wear. But I am Ok with it for the price I paid.
On other specimens, the missiles are on a sprue. But mine came loose in a baggie. (Maybe the previous owner had removed them.)
He's about 3 inches tall. It has a lot of diecast metal content, making it hefty.
Play gimmick - chest piece opens to reveal missiles.
Glad to note the launching mechanism works great!
Another gimmick - rocket punch. The spring and launching mechanism works great too here.
The missiles are super tiny! It can be lost easily if not careful.
Definitely recommended if you're a Chogokin or Mazinger collector. It's an excellent miniature replica of Chogokin history. Get it if you can find one for a good price.
Hi,,

The price was 132 $.
But i found one without the box for 48$ only.
