1998 BANDAI (TRENDMASTERS) ULTIMATE GODZILLA JAPAN EXCLUSIVE

I've been wanting a 1998 Godzilla toy for a long time.

The figure that was on my wish list is the Trendmasters Ultimate Godzilla.

Today, I've finally got this beast of a toy. But interestingly, the version that I acquired is actually distributed by Bandai and it's a Japan market exclusive. Here check out the box art in Japanese.

The instructions are printed on the back.

Below its indicated a Trendmasters copyright. This is the same toy as the Trendmasters Ultimate Godzilla from the US.

This toy is a beast! It measures 20" tall and 25" long. It's a jumbo figure!

It has very nice sculpting details. However the pose is kinda fixed.

When I got this, there's a huge gap on the left shoulder (pic below).

Fixed the shoulder gap with some super glue (pic below). There's still a gap but not as bad as before.

I found an instruction sheet online for this Ultimate Godzilla and it states that once the arms, legs are snapped in, you can't remove it. The previous owner did remove the legs! Luckily its not broken but that made the joints kinda loose. I guess the owner also tried to pull out the arm ...but I am just guessing.

So I decided not to remove the arms and tail as it might damage the figure, This is how I am going to store in in the box. It's like Godzilla breaking out of the box!

Ultimate Godzilla have two play features.

1) Eating action figures action - insert action figure in Godzilla's mouth. To remove the figures, there's an opening hatch on his back.

2) Godzilla sound effects - requires two AA batteries. Glad that this feature still works.

This toy is selling for USD300++ for a loose with box specimen and USD600 for a mint in box in the secondary market. I got this together with another Vintage 1994 Electronic Space Godzilla for much lower price here. Really happy to have this.
